Golfing: Ireland is famous for it's fabulous golf courses, and Dublin contains many of these. There are also other coursessuitable for beginners. Horse Racing: There are five main racecourses in and around Dublin: The Curragh | Fairyhouse Racecourse | Leopardstown Racecourse | Naas Racecourse. The Curragh is one of Ireland's oldest racecourses. Fairy house is home to Ireland’s premier National Hunt race, the Irish Grand National. Punchestown is a wonderful racecourse, one of the best in the British Isles. Rugby: Is a very popular sport in Dublin. The international team plays in Aviva Stadium - former Lansdowne Road in Dublin, which is the oldest International Rugby Stadium in the world today. |
Greyhound Racing: There are two main courses which are in or around Dublin: Shelbourne Park and Harold's Cross. Shelbourne Park is one of the country's best greyhound racing venues. Hurling: Is best described as a mixture of hockey and gaelic football It is a field game, the fastest field game in the world. The Dublin Hurling team play in Parnell Park Stadium for league matches, and Croke Park for Championship matches. |
